How-to articles
How do I make a video in DistilBook?
Make your first DistilBook video: pick Motion Explainer or Guided Explainer, add your file, link or prompt, set length, language and aspect ratio, review the narration, and generate.
How do I convert only part of a long PDF?
Use Select Pages to turn only the pages you need into a video, so a long textbook or manual becomes a focused video and you only spend credits on that part.
How do I edit the narration before the video is made?
DistilBook pauses at the narration so you can edit every slide's script, rename slides, or regenerate a slide with your own instructions before anything is drawn.
How do I choose a video style?
Pick a whiteboard slide style in Guided Explainer or a motion-graphics style in Motion Explainer, preview it, and add visual instructions to steer the artwork.
How do I add my logo and brand colors?
Set brand colours when you create a video and add your logo, company name and opening and closing cards, on every paid plan including the $20 Basic plan.
How do I make a vertical 9:16 video?
Choose 9:16 Portrait under Aspect ratio to make a true vertical explainer video for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and TikTok, in the whiteboard or motion format.
How do I make a video in another language?
Choose the narration language before generating: 20 languages including Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Turkish, Russian, Hindi and Ukrainian, plus English accents.
How do I download my video?
Render your DistilBook video, choose 720p, 1080p or 2K (1440p), download the MP4, and export subtitles as VTT, SRT or TXT. Watermark and resolution by plan.
How do I share my video with a link?
Press Share to get a link anyone can view, copy it, or post it to X, WhatsApp or LinkedIn. No download needed, and it works on the free plan.
Can I use my own voice for the narration?
Yes, on the Pro and Max plans: record about a minute of your voice on My Voices and DistilBook narrates any video in it, in 20 languages. Basic and free accounts use the built-in AI voices.
How many credits does a video cost?
Every slide costs 10 credits. A whiteboard slide is about 2 minutes of video and a motion slide about 25 seconds. Signup gives 10 free credits; plans give 230 to 1,340 credits a month.
How do I keep the same look across a video series?
Use the same style, the same visual instructions, the same voice and your brand colours for every episode, so a course or series looks like one set of videos.
How do I use exact quotations and references?
Paste quotations and references exactly at the script review; the narration and subtitles follow your text as written. Keep on-screen quotes short.
